Four dead and seven injured in Guatemala

An armed attack in a peripheral community of the Guatemalan capital left four dead and seven injured on Monday, some of them with burns.

The calm of the Los Trojes community, in the municipality of Amatitlán in the department of Guatemala, was altered at night when a group of armed men arrived and began shooting at passers-by, leaving bodies scattered along some 400 meters. firefighters confirmed to the AP.

Oscar Sánchez, spokesman for the firefighters, explained that there were four dead – three adults and one minor – all male. Two of the deceased were burned.

The first versions of neighbors realize that on Sunday a young man would have been lynched in the community, setting him on fire after dousing him with gasoline, for allegedly committing a crime, and later Monday’s attack took place. Some neighbors indicated that the deceased were local people who were returning from work.

The Ministry of Health indicated that the injured were stable in various care centers.
