Former British Prime Minister David Cameron will be the new Foreign Minister
He will be the replacement for James Cleverly, after an unexpected decision by the current head of the Government, Rishi Sunak.
Former Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron will be next foreign minister of the United Kingdom, replacing James Cleverly, in a unexpected decision of the current head of the Government, Rishi Sunak.
To take office, Cameron will be appointed lord by Sunak in order to enter as a parliamentarian in the Upper House, a requirement to be able to join the Executive.
Cameron served as prime minister between 2010 and 2016but ended up resigning after the failure of the referendum brexitin which a majority of British citizens voted in favor of breaking with the European Union against the official criteria of the Government.
In his case, it happens that he is not a deputy, an essential requirement to take office as the new Foreign Minister, but there is an alternative route that involves joining the House of Lords via emergency, according to the BBC. .
His return is not a unique case, since the also conservative Alec Douglas-Home, prime minister between 1963 and 1964, returned to the Government as head of Health in the following decade. However, Douglas-Home was a deputy when he returned to the Executive.
