A forest fire was recorded on Thursday north of Cali, affecting several areas of the city.

More than 100 rescuers from the Cali Volunteer Fire Department went to the scene to fight the flames.

A large part of the Altos de Menga was affected by the fire, the flames reached the La Campiña and El Bosque neighborhoods.

The Cali Firefighters carried out security maneuvers to protect the surrounding homes from the fire.



It should be mentioned that due to the high flames that are out of control, some citizens of the La Campiña and El Bosque neighborhoods have reported that ash has entered their homes.

It should be noted that the affected area in Altos de Menga is shared between Cali and Yumbo. For this reason, Yumbo Firefighters and Yumbo Civil Defense are also attending to other fronts.

The fire remains out of control and authorities are still working to extinguish the flames.
