The agency forecasts that from next Sunday to Wednesday, June 28, temperatures will be higher than 40 or 42 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperatures will also be high.

In this sense, he explained that in the areas of the Guadiana, Guadalquivir and Tagus valleys there is a high probability that the temperature records will exceed 42 degrees Celsius.

In parts of the south, the center and the Ebro valley, it can reach 38 degrees and in the northern plateau, 35 degrees.

Likewise, the meteorological portfolio reported that the coming days will be influenced by an anticyclone with a stable atmosphere, which will favor strong insolation.

"Together with the entry of a very warm air mass from North Africa, it is giving rise to a progressive increase in temperatures in the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, starting yesterday and which will continue mainly until Monday," Aemet said.

Due to the strong daytime heating, storms are forecast in mountain areas of the center and the eastern half of the peninsula starting on Sunday.
