Sources from the fire department indicated that the fire caused by the explosion was recorded at night in the Ate Vitarte district of Lima.

The fire brigadier, Giovanni Jacome, pointed out that inside the deposit they found the remains of these people, among whom there would be a minor.

The firefighters warned that the death toll could increase in the coming hours and added that search and rescue efforts continue to find more victims of the fire.

For his part, the Minister of Health explained that two of the injured have serious burns with 70 percent of the body affected and that they have been transferred to the Ate hospital for emergency care.

According to neighbors, there are several fireworks stores in the area and despite the fact that they have requested the intervention of the municipality to control them, so far there has been no response.

At this time of year, parties with fireworks are popular in Peru due to the national anniversary, which is commemorated on the 28th, and other regional celebrations next August.
