Edinson Cavani es nuevo jugador de Boca Juniors
El legendario número ’10’ que alguna vez vistieron para Boca Juniors Diego Armando Maradona, Juan Román Riquelme o Carlos Tévez será el que lucirá el uruguayo Edinson Cavani como nuevo jugador ‘xeneize’.
El club público un video con jugadas del ‘Matador’ marcando goles en los diferentes clubes por los que ha pasado y concluye con la frase: “Felices de tenerte en casa” sobre un fondo en el que descubre la camiseta con el ’10’ y el apellido del uruguayo.
Cavani, de 36 años, ha fichado por el club argentino hasta diciembre de 2024, tras haberse desvinculado del Valencia, donde tenía contrato hasta junio del año próximo.
Después de semanas de incertidumbre y rumores, relacionadas con la negociación del internacional uruguayo para salir del Valencia en esta jornada se confirmó la llegada de Cavani a la entidad de La Ribera, donde será su tercer refuerzo tras la llegada del lateral derecho Lucas Blondel y el extremo Lucas Janson.
El club ‘xeneize’ había liberado días atrás dos plazas extranjeras para avanzar en el fichaje del exjugador del Nápoles, París Saint-Germain y Manchester United, entre otros, y poder inscribir al delantero en la lista para la Copa Libertadores.
La llegada de Cavani a la entidad auriazul es un sueño del vicepresidente, el exfutbolista Juan Román Riquelme, quien anhelaba su incorporación como salto de calidad para alcanzar la meta de la séptima Libertadores e igualar al ‘Rey de Copas’, el Independiente, único de la historia en lograr las siete conquistas del torneo sudamericano.
Ganador de la Copa América con Uruguay en 2011, a nivel de clubes Cavani obtuvo un Campeonato Uruguayo en Danubio, la Copa Italia con el Napoli y todos los títulos posibles del futbol francés con el PSG, donde jugó entre 2013 y 2020.
En los últimos tres años jugó 87 partidos y estuvo 207 días lesionado, siendo titular en el Manchester United, donde convirtió 21 goles en dos temporadas, para luego pasar al Valencia, en el que sumó siete tantos.
