Dieco Cocca's Tigres UANL start the Clausura 2023 with a win against Santos Laguna in the MX League

The Tigres UANL led by Argentine coach Diego Cocca thrashed Santos Laguna 3-0 this Sundaywhich meant the first victory of the two-time champion with Atlas, in the current Clausura 2023 tournament of the Liga MX.
Diego Reyes, the Frenchman André Pierre Gignac and the Colombian Luis Quiñones converted for Cocca's catswho played with one more man on the field from minute 62, when Santos lost striker Eduardo Aguirre by expulsion.
As it was expected, Tigres was superior and made it clear from minute 7 in which Reyes dominated a pass from the Uruguayan Fernando Gorriarán and made it 0-1. On the other hand, with possession of the ball 64-36 in their favor, Santos looked for an equalizer in the initial half, but ran into a well-planted opponent.
In the second part Aguirre knocked down Gorriarán in the area and received red cardboard. Santos was close to the tie in minute 80 with a shot missed by the Colombian Harold Preciado, from which the Tigers tightened and completed the win.
In it 83 Gignac made his debut in the game after kicking the pass from the Uruguayan Nicolás 'Diente' López with his left foot.
On the other hand, in the 88 Quiñones scored on a Gignac serve to secure the win which ended up being a win by the Monterrey team.
Rest of the Sunday day in Mexico
This same Sunday the Argentine Juan Ignacio Dinenno converted a penalty four minutes from time to give Brazilian Dani Alves' Pumas UNAM a 2-1 victory over Juárez FC. Alan Medina put Juárez ahead and the Argentines Eduardo Salvio and Dinenno turned the score around.
