With the votes of Morena and its allies, the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies appointed Ricardo Palmas Rojas as the new head of the Evaluation and Control Unit (UEC) of the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit of the Federation, in charge of supervising and evaluating said oversight body.
Palmas Rojas is identified as a collaborator of Claudia Sheinbaum and, therefore, was questioned by the opposition during the selection process, which was reflected in the voting of 254 votes in his favor; four, by Claudia López Corral; one, for Alfonso Chávez Fierro, and 143 none.

The head of the UEC elected for the period from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2027 worked in the Comptroller General of the Federal District from 1997 to 2018, and before that she was part of Bertha Luján's team during her tenure as comptroller of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Palma Rojas immediately protested before the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies.
The UEC's mission is to evaluate the performance of the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) and ensure that your public servants comply with the applicable legal provisions, in technical support to the powers of the Chamber of Deputies, through the ASF Surveillance Commission, with the objective of strengthening accountability.
The president of the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit of the Federation, Pablo Angulostressed that the designation of the UEC ownership concluded with the shortlist made up of Claudia López Corral, Ricardo Palmas Rojas and Alfonso Chávez Fierro, defined as the most suitable profiles derived from the evaluations and with the highest technical standards.
He hoped that the designated person fully complies with the powers established in the Federal Supervision and Accountability Law, with the purpose of guaranteeing that the federal oversight function is carried out in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability that must prevail in every public servant in the country.
