More than 100,000 evacuated in India by cyclone Biparjoy

In Pakistan, the event has begun to affect the coastal zone and between the two countries they have forced the evacuation of nearly 150,000 people at high risk.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra told the media that the process kicked off from the Saurashtra and Kutch districts located in the Gujarat region.

In eight districts of the state of Guarajat, more than 74,000 people have been evacuated so far, according to the head of the state government, Bhupendra Patel.

Similarly, in the south, Sindh is one of the provinces under direct threat from the phenomenon, for which more than 72,000 people have been evacuated.

Expert forecasts show that Sindh, Guarajat and areas of Rajasthan should be the most affected by the rains and the effects of the winds brought by the hurricane, classified as severe by specialists.

In Sindh specifically, widespread, heavy to extremely heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected.

It is worth remembering that precisely this area was the most affected by the floods last summer, where at least 33 million people were affected and nearly 1,700 lost their lives.
