Hospitals have their characteristics: silence, lights, smells, colors, and therapeutic clowns enter that scenario. These people have the ability to change silence for music, where looks are tinged with hope, but above all, with consolation.
For therapeutic clowns, the greatest objective is to contact joy and well-being, but initially it goes through acceptance to interact, and this is generated at first with the hospital space and that the parties want to transform the place. That gives way to achieving your objective, well-being, laughter, fantasy, play, complicity.
Vivian Lezcano, from Pinar del Rio, Cuba, voluntarily reaches hospitals to bring healing in the power of a laugh, using music and love to relieve pain.
The love for art and for children makes Vivian, from tenderness and an immense humanity marked by kindness and compassion, willing to be with others and with the intention of helping. From her life story as a cancer survivor, she now accompanies children by visiting hospitals and transmitting the joy of living, as part of therapies and recovery, through music and games.
This woman works in an ice cream parlor and, in her work space, she has the possibility of a show site for children as a clown, but in addition, she reaches the provincial hospitals of Pinar del Río, children's and adult services, the Burns and Chemotherapy.

“A lot of heart, loving children a lot, that profession, which comes from the heart, is like an art, making others happy, and giving them a little encouragement, so they can breathe and move forward,” says Vivian.
In the midst of the struggle for life, conditioned by vulnerability and the understanding of not being able to change circumstances, they are left with the conviction that what is transformed is aptitude.

Vivian's body draws melodies that provide that space for games and participation with children and adults, who also play from silence, which helps and enhances a complicit language to enter that zone of games, of listening to silences.
The purpose goes beyond a smile, it is hoped that it becomes a lifestyle with the psychological, physical and emotional benefits that laughter brings regardless of age, race, sex or social class.
She is in charge of bringing fathers and mothers a moment of happiness. To them and their children. She is sure to laugh full of life by bringing smiles to spaces of pain to make hospitals kinder places, to become stronger and more autonomous in the face of circumstances.

When he shares his emotions, he says that he values “a child's smile, and that it is very sad to see a child suffering, to see a sick child, children should not get sick, and he explains independently that the oncology ward is very difficult, the burn room, it breaks his heart, he always leaves with a broken heart, but always giving thanks for life.”
Faced with these realities, the challenge of transforming situations that are very difficult, in which pain, uncertainty are experienced, and feeling like the clown adds positive emotions, fosters a friendly climate, which favors the patient's health, is wonderful.

This brave woman recognizes herself as Cuban and finds beauty in her land and in the joy of her people. I Photo: teleSUR
The fact of wearing a red nose demands preparation, from the body and mind, in the emotions and transmitting it in a way that makes one forget the suffering for a moment, it can be classified as a gift of service.
This brave woman recognizes herself as Cuban and finds beauty in her land and in the joy of her people, the beauty of her landscapes and, wisely, she will continue to offer smiles so that bitter things pass and we can flourish.
