The president of the Assembly of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández and the head of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, met in Moscow to consolidate parliamentary ties between both nations.

The meeting took place within the framework of the First Russia - Latin America International Parliamentary Conference taking place in the Russian capital.
Both heads of their respective parliaments committed to continue advancing cooperation and legislative diplomacy to build a multipolar world, based on equality and mutual respect.
Parliamentarians from Latin America, the Caribbean and Russia, representatives of international parliamentary organizations, Russian and Latin American experts, public figures, representatives of state authorities and the diplomatic corps will participate in the Conference.
The central theme of the Conference is "Russia and Latin America: cooperation for a fair world for all."
The Conference, which began this Friday, September 29, and concludes this Tuesday, October 2, will include round tables and a plenary session.
Both legislators have developed an intense work agenda within the framework of the parliamentary conference.

The Venezuelan politician participated in the signing between the Parliaments of Venezuela and Russia on an interparliamentary cooperation agreement that will contribute to deepening relations between both nations.
While the Cuban legislator carried out several activities within the framework of his tour of Moscow.
Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau and president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, paid tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz, before the monument located in the Sókol district in the Russian capital.
Later, he also placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, accompanied by members of the Cuban delegation and Ivan Melnikov.
Melnikov is First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma and Deputy Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Dimitri Novikov, first vice-president of the International Relations Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and head of the Russia-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, also attended.
With a greeting at the entrance of the State Duma building of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, like good friends, Vyacheslav Volodin, president of this Russian legislative body, received his Cuban counterpart.
Friendship does not understand geographical distance, which is why it is a great pleasure to meet again in Moscow, within the framework of the first Russia-Latin America International Parliamentary Conference, he assured.
