In times where in every game there is an urgency to win, the Tampa Bay Rays showed a show of resistance by coming from behind to leave the Angels lying on the field and take over a vital series to continue their attempt to capture the pennant of the American League East.

With the vital contribution of Mexican Isaac Paredes, the Rays tied the score in the bottom of the ninth roll with a single to left field that sent Harold Ramírez to the scorer

Manuel Margot later singled to right field off reliever Carlos Estévez to send the Rays to a 5-4 victory over the Angels at Tropicana Field. It was the 10th walk-off of the year for Tampa Bay, tied for the most in the Major Leagues.

We know the Orioles are above us,” Margot said. “We can't control what they can do. We just have to be able to control what we can.”

The score was tied at 2 entering the sixth inning when Rays starter Zach Eflin came out to make way for reliever Shawn Armstrong. Eflin pitched well, striking out 10 with just one walk, allowing two runs that came when Josh Lowe and Margot misplayed David Fletcher's fourth-inning single to right field.

Andrew Kittredge (2-0) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win.

The late comeback prevented the Rays from losing two of three to the Angels.

The Rays went ahead on the board in the bottom of the first roll with a double from Sonoran Isaac Paredes.
