With the turnout of 52.78 percent of the electorate, ND won 40.56 percent of the vote and 158 seats out of the 300-member Greek Parliament, making it the best-performing conservative party in Europe.
For his part, Mitsotakis breaks several historical records, including being the first Greek head of government since 1974, after the end of the dictatorship, to improve results after a legislature in power and widen his difference with respect to the opposition.
This is also the first time, since the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2010, that a Greek prime minister has been re-elected after a four-year term.
After knowing the official results of the elections, Mitsotakis said: "We will enjoy our victory, but starting tomorrow we will roll up our sleeves and continue working to build a more prosperous Greece."

Far behind New Democracy in the elections, the Coalition of the Radical Left (Syriza) was positioned with 17.83 percent of the vote and 48 seats. Next, in third place, was the historic Panhellenic Socialist Party (Pasok) with 32 seats and 11.86 percentage points.
For its part, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) won 20 seats and 7.68 percent, while the far-right formation Spartans reached 12 seats in Parliament and 4.67 percent of the vote.
The leader of Syriza, Alexis Tsipras, made his position available to the formation and announced a reconstruction process after the defeat suffered in the elections.
However, he described the result as "negative, above all, for society and for democracy", due to the presence of "three far-right parties" in the Greek Parliament.
