Conor McGregor will fight again in the UFC

The historic champion of the featherweight and lightweight categories of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to the ring.

Conor McGregor will be one of the trainers of the reality “The Ultimate Fighter” along with Michael Chandler, with whom will he fight at the end of the show's 31st season.

The return was confirmed on February 4, 2023, when UFC President Dana White announced that Conor McGregor will face to the 36-year-old fighter.

Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter” will take place from May 30 to August 15. Michael Chandler told ESPN who plans to beat the Irishman by knockout in the second round.

“He's going to feel my presence from the start of the fight and then from wherever the fight takes us. If I want to pick him up and put him down, I can pick him up and put him down and punch him and get a submission that way. I think I'm done with Conor in the second round. That's my 'Mystic Mike' version of it, later this year whenever," he told the sports portal.

McGregor's last fight was against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. This confrontation was lost by knockout technician, after suffering a tibia fractureby bending his left leg during the first round.

In turn, Michael Chandler has also been defeated by Poirier and he is on a losing streak in his last three fights.

McGregor was the first fighter to win two championship belts in the feather and light categories. His current record is 22-6-0. Meanwhile, Chandler accumulates a record of 23-8-0 and became lightweight champion in 2018.
