Representantes de organizaciones sociales de la comunidad haitiana en República Dominicana denunciaron, en una rueda de prensa, este miércoles, el discurso de odio que se promueve en su contra, a través de propagandas no sustentadas en datos e informaciones oficiales ni reales.

Los presentes indicaron que se manipulan las cifras para hacer ver que hay mayor flujo migratorio en el país del que en realidad existe. En ese sentido, señalaron que “en la última encuesta nacional de inmigrantes había menos de 500,000 personas, pero con el reciente flujo puede haber alrededor de 600,00 personas”.

Además, desmintieron al Gobierno dominicano respecto a la premisa de que las mujeres embarazadas están ocupando una buena proporción del presupuesto nacional de salud, pues, según indicaron los miembros de los movimientos pro derechos haitianos, el porcentaje que representan en el presupuesto es de 0.5 por ciento.

Asimismo, denunciaron los maltratos y violaciones a derechos humanos de las autoridades migratorias en el centro de detención de Haina.

“Estos deben ser repudiados y descontinuados, ya que no cuenta con las más mínimas garantías legales ni de condiciones de salubridad e higiene, para asegurar la dignidad de las personas que son retenidas en sus instalaciones”, aseguró el Movimiento Socio-Cultural para los Trabaiadores Haitianos (Mosctha).

Además, las organizaciones expresaron su rechazo a las deportaciones masivas y violatorias del debido proceso. “Exigimos que se ponga fin a las prácticas discriminatorias y racistas, porque una sociedad no debe permitir el apartheid en su seno”, expresaron.
