Conago approves creation of the T-MEC Commission, Bedolla will preside over it

Querétaro.- At the proposal of Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, members of the National Conference of Governors (Conago), unanimously approved the creation of the T-MEC Commission that will be chaired by the head of the Executive in Michoacán.

During the LXIII meeting of the Conago, to adjust the presidencies of the structures that make it up, the governors voted in favor of the proposal in which, in addition, the president of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, will serve as vice president.

Bedolla argued the importance of creating the T-MEC Commission to accompany President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the path of consolidation of the North American region to improve commercial competitiveness, adding to the implementation of the treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada, the import substitution, nearshoring, electric vehicle and chip technologies.

He recalled that Michoacán has great investment possibilities, having among its strengths the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas with a privileged logistical position due to its location in the Center-Bajío-Occident of the country, which brings it closer to the supply of the automotive industry, in addition to its great human capital.

He indicated that work is also being done to increase the attraction of investment with the development of industrial parks on the Isla de la Palma, in charge of the Administration of the Lázaro Cárdenas National Port System (Asipona); del Bajío Uno in Queréndaro, and the next one to operate by the private initiative in the municipality of Tarímbaro, Eleva Park.

To which he reiterated that Michoacán is ready to carry out an industrial policy aligned with the T-MEC and the import substitution model for North America that was established at the last Summit of North American Leaders in which the president of Mexico participated.
