Commando stole 10 Volvo agency vehicles in León; nine cars have already been located | VIDEO

The Secretariat of Security, Prevention and Citizen Protection of Lion announced that recovered nine of the 10 vehicles stolen from a Volvo agency in said municipality in the state of Guanajuato.

The events occurred around 10:28 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, when a Armed group arrived at the branch, located at the intersection of Juan Alonso Torres and Paseos del Moral boulevards, in the Villas del Juncal neighborhood, where they took 10 semi-new cars that were on display outside the agency.

The automotive agency is a few meters from Plaza Las Palmas and Plaza Mayor, one of the most important commercial areas of the city.

Images that were captured by the cameras installed in the place showed that the guard Security opened the door when a subject approached the place - which was still closed - and knocked, however, upon opening the police officer was feinted while other subjects entered the place to make the necessary maneuvers and take the cars.

Employees of the automotive agency detailed that the criminal group took a dozen cars with a total value of 15 million: a Toyota Raize CVT truck valued at 369 thousand pesos; a 2012 model Audi A1 for 490 thousand pesos; a white Audi A4 Dinamic model for 425 thousand pesos; a Buick Enclave Avenir 2018 model for 685 thousand pesos; as well as five Volvo vehicles models XC60, XC90 Momentum 2017, XC60 2018 and S60 Plus 2023, the latter being the most expensive of all those stolen with a value of 825 thousand pesos.

Once the subjects fled the scene, the guard notified the authorities and elements of the police of the robbery. municipal policel and the National Guard deployed an operation.

The León Security Secretariat monitored the cameras of the Computing, Command, Communications and Control Center (C4), while the Preventive Police and the Road Police carried out ground search operations.

Hours later, it was announced that nine of the 10 stolen vehicles were located within a store located on the borders of Francisco del Rincón and León, although no arrests have been reported so far.

The place was secured by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) of Guanajuato, whose agents will continue the investigations to find those responsible for the robbery.

The Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA) spoke out about the events and regretted the insecurity that exists in the city and in the country, while demanding that the investigations move forward.

It should be noted that just last year a trailer loaded with six General Motors trucks which had left the plant located in Silao, Guanajuato, was stolen by an armed group in San Luis Potosí, when they threatened the driver and forced him to get out of the vehicle.
