The collapse of a pedestrian bridge in Mexico left a preliminary balance of 15 people injured, two of them with serious injuries.

The event occurred during the celebration of the Day of the Dead on a bridge located between the limits of the towns of Chimalhuacán and Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, in the state of Mexico (Edomex).
At the time the structure collapsed, several pedestrians were crossing to a local cemetery to leave flowers and offerings on the graves of their loved ones.
In total 15 people were injured, among whom there is a man with multiple trauma and fractures in several areas of his body; It was also reported that a woman is seriously injured. Among the injured there are also three minors.
The director of Municipal Civil Protection of Chimalhuacán, MartÃn Cortes, indicated that after a meeting with local government officials the decision was made to close the collapsed bridge.
In this sense, that pedestrian crossing that divides the towns of Chimalhuacán and Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl will no longer exist.
