Ciberataque obliga a cerrar varios hospitales en Estados Unidos
Un ciberataque contra un grupo hospitalario de Estados Unidos obligó a cerrar las unidades de urgencias y otros servicios sanitarios críticos en sus instalaciones de al menos cuatro estados, informaron el viernes fuentes sanitarias.
Prospect Medical Holdings, que gestiona 16 hospitales en California, Connecticut, Pensilvania y Rhode Island, sufrió un “incidente de seguridad de datos”, explicó una portavoz en un comunicado.
“Al enterarnos, desconectamos nuestros sistemas para protegerlos e iniciamos una investigación con la ayuda de especialistas externos en ciberseguridad”, añadió.

El Hospital Waterbury del grupo en Connecticut informó que el apagón informático estaba afectando todas las intervenciones a pacientes hospitalizados y ambulatorios, y obligó al personal a utilizar “registros de papel, hasta que se resuelva”.
La Red de Salud del Este de Connecticut notificó que su centro de urgencias estaba cerrado y que las cirugías electivas fueron canceladas hasta nuevo aviso.
Se sospechaba que el incidente podía ser un ataque de “ransomware” o secuestro de datos, pero todavía se estaba investigando, dijo la portavoz.
