The official stated: "If the US is really concerned about the welfare of the North Korean people, it should stop imposing sanctions and putting pressure on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea's official name)."
He assured that the sanctions do not contribute to the resolution of hostilities on the Korean peninsula. In this sense, he pointed out that: "To solve the problem of the Korean peninsula, the rational concerns of North Korea must be addressed."
