China registered in 2021 a growth of its economy of 8.1 percent, the highest figure in a decade, the National Statistics Office (ONE) reported on Monday.
China’s foreign trade grows 21.4% in 2021
The ONE indicated in a statement that this positive behavior occurred despite challenges such as outbreaks of the Covid-19 epidemic and a complicated external environment.
In this way, the Chinese GDP reached 114,367 billion yuan (18 billion dollars). According to the forecasts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the GDP of the United States in 2021 will be around 22.8 trillion dollars.
The statistics offered by the ONE indicated that during the last quarter of last year the Chinese economy registered a slowdown in its growth due to the outbreaks of the coronavirus and the decline in the real estate market.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the Asian giant’s GDP reported a year-on-year increase of 4.0 percent.
The ONE highlighted that China’s economy faces this year “the triple pressure of the contraction in demand, the shock in supply and the drop in expectations.”
