'Chicharito' suffers a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez suffered a right knee anterior cruciate ligament tear and it will be operated "on a date to be defined," as reported by the LA Galaxy on Friday.
Chicharito suffered this serious injury this Wednesday in the match of the US Open Cup in which the Galaxy were eliminated 3-2 in the Quarterfinals against Real Salt Lake.
The striker, who had to leave the field in the 27th minute, was injured alone and without colliding with any rival player when he was running and his right knee caught on the grass.
As soon as he saw himself on the ground, 'Chicharito' quickly asked for medical assistance with gestures of pain and was later removed on a stretcher.
Hours after the match, the Mexican striker confirmed that he had a knee injury, although he still did not know the extent of his injury.
I have a knee injury but we are going to see how serious it is in the next few days. Let's hope it's not that serious. And once again, thanks to everyone who sends their good vibes and who helped me in this difficult moment. Thank you.
Out of the Cup, the LA Galaxy is bottom of the Western Conference in the MLS with only 12 points in 15 games (three wins, three draws and nine losses) and this Sunday they will face St. Louis City at home.
