The start of the bilateral truce is agreed for next October 8 and a dialogue table must be established with headquarters in the city of Tibú, Catatumbo region.

The announcement was made at a press conference from the town of Suárez in Cauca, where both delegations met to reach agreements and advance a dialogue agenda.

The head of the Government's peace delegation, Camilo González, highlighted the historical value of this ceasefire, since such a long truce and with these characteristics had never been presented.

For its part, the EMC representation recalled that peace goes beyond the signing of a document or a public declaration, but rather that one can live in peace in the municipalities most affected by the conflict.

The Tibú area is located in the department of Norte de Santander and is one of the areas with the greatest presence of various armed and criminal groups.
