The center of Hurricane Norma, category 2 on the Saffir-Simpson scale, is very close to making landfall in the vicinity of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, in northwest Mexico.

At 09:00 am, central Mexico time, it was located 45 kilometers (km) west-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, and 405 km west of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, reported the National Water Commission (Conagua). ).

The report added that the phenomenon recorded maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour (km/h), gusts of 195 km/h and movement towards the north at 13 km/h.



In its path it causes extraordinary occasional rains, gusts of wind of 120 to 140 km/h, possible formation of waterspouts and waves of 7 to 9 meters high in Baja California Sur.

According to the report from the National Meteorological Service (SMN), it indicated that it will impact Baja California Sur with full force, but will continue its trajectory and is shaping up to hit Sinaloa, although with less force.

The Autonomous University of Sinaloa makes some of its facilities in the four academic regions available to the population at risk.

For this Saturday, torrential rains are forecast for the states of Baja California Sur, Nayarit and Sinaloa; intense for Colima and Jalisco; very strong for Chihuahua, Durango and Sonora.

According to SMN forecasts, this Sunday, Norma, now as a tropical storm and with winds of 63 to 118 km/h, will be located in the southern Gulf of California, approximately 150 km from the coast of Sinaloa.
