Car bomb explodes in the center of Quito, Ecuador | News
The National Police of Ecuador reported that on Wednesday night a car bomb exploded in a commercial area in the center of Quito, the country's capital, for which six people are detained.

Police General Pablo RamĂrez told reporters that five Ecuadorians and one Colombian, all with criminal records, were arrested in connection with the attack, which left no victims.
The Police had first reported the fire of a vehicle, however, RamĂrez confirmed that apparently remains of two gas cylinders and sticks of dynamite were found inside the car, so it could be an attack.

After preliminary verifications, it is established that individuals had left the parked vehicle abandoned on Robles and Amazonas streets, in #UIOwhich would have been found with a slow-fuse device.

The police manager explained that both the car that was detonated and the car in which the six detained people were traveling had been reported stolen.
RamĂrez indicated that the attack could be a response by organized crime to a series of prisoner transfers carried out this Wednesday.
The general indicated that the site where the car exploded served in the past as the headquarters of the National Service of Comprehensive Attention (SNAI) for Persons Deprived of Liberty, the institution in charge of the control and custody of Ecuador's prisons.

Local media reported the explosion of an alleged second car bomb in another sector of the Ecuadorian capital around 02:00 local time this Thursday (07:00 GMT), however, the event had not been confirmed by official sources. .
