California woman pleaded guilty to defrauding insurance companies to perform cosmetic surgery

A California woman declared this Friday guilty of running a series of scams on insurance companies to perform cosmetic surgery.
Linda Morrow, 69, who has been in federal custody since July 2019admitted to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
The woman admitted to helping her husband to execute the fraudulent billing scheme of the Morrow Institute (TMI), in Rancho Mirage, Riverside Countyaccording to the indictment.
Two years ago, her husband, David M, Morrow, 77, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The Morrow Institute defrauded insurance companies like Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, and Blue Shield California. They claimed that surgeries such as liposuction, nose jobs, and breast augmentation were “medically necessary.
cosmetic surgeries resulted in $44 million dollars in fraudulent proceedings.
To commit fraud the Morrow couple persuaded patients to sign letters or witness statements that contained false statementsaccording to court documents.
Linda Morrow admitted that he instructed employees to write falsified letters and witness statementsaccording to the indictment from the United States Department of Justice.
The Morrow Marriage was deported from Israel, where they fled with false Mexican passports. In addition, Linda Morrow was also using a false Guatemalan passport.
The woman will be sentenced on July 1 and faces 20 years in prison for the crimes committed.
