During a massive ceremony at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia, Lula announced the bill to make equal pay a reality between men and women who hold the same position, a promise from his electoral campaign.
The text will have to be analyzed by Congress and provides for control mechanisms for companies and greater transparency with the aim of achieving salary equity, already provided for in current legislation.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also relaunched the “Woman Living Without Violence” program, which allows the construction of 40 new units of the so-called “Brazilian Women's Houses” to provide comprehensive care to victims of violence against women.
At the event, the Minister for Women's Affairs, Aparecida Gonçalves, specified that “every day three women are murdered in Brazil for the fact that they are women and in 2022 there were six women murdered per day. Confronting femicides is an urgent political fight."
Other measures that the current Brazilian government will implement will be the ratification of a series of international conventions in defense of women, the resumption of the construction of 1,189 nurseries and the free distribution of sanitary napkins.
Added to the actions are a plan to confront sexual and moral harassment in the federal administration, the establishment of maternity leave for elite athletes who receive government support, as well as incentives for scientists, filmmakers and writers.
