Boca Juniors presenta a Cavani frente a miles de aficionados en La Bombonera
El uruguayo Edinson Cavani venía preparando desde hace años el regreso al futbol sudamericano, pero no imaginó que sería con la camiseta 10 de Boca Juniors que lucieron Diego Maradona, Juan Román Riquelme y Carlos Tevez, y en La Bombonera con miles de aficionados.
Unos 30 mil hinchas celebraron este lunes la presentación del experimentado delantero de 36 años como refuerzo de uno de los clubes más populares del continente, horas después de su desvinculación del Valencia y su arribo a Argentina para incorporarse a Boca por 18 meses.
“El proceso de volver lo venía haciendo hace un tiempo, no por cuestiones de físico o deportivo, sino por cuestiones más que nada sentimentales como el interés de Boca y acercarme a casa”, dijo Cavani a la prensa en Uruguay, previo a su viaje a la Argentina.
Boca es el más grande de Sudamérica y del mundo, llegar a un club como estos siempre te motiva. Las circunstancias de la vida y del futbol me iban llevando por otro camino, pero siempre había un contacto y la posibilidad de venir.
Luego de la parte médica y una conferencia de prensa, Cavani ingresó a la popular Bombonera vestido con la 10 y recibió una gran ovación de los aficionados.
Es un número muy lindo que la gente adora por los que usaron esa camiseta, y eso me da la responsabilidad de cuidarla y defenderla, y llevarla como siempre ellos han hecho a los más alto.
El ‘Matador’ llega a Boca luego de una larga carrera en el futbol europeo, con pasos por Palermo, Napoli, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United y Valencia, club con el cual días atrás rescindió su contrato con un año de anticipación.
Cavani podría debutar en los próximos partidos ante Nacional de Montevideo por los Octavos de Final de la Copa Libertadores, el 2 y el 9 de agosto en Montevideo y Buenos Aires, respectivamente.
“No veo la hora de volver a empezar a correr atrás de la pelota. Las ganas no faltan”, añadió en el terreno de juego, antes de cerrar la jornada cantando “dale Boca” junto a los aficionados.
