BNG refuses to invest Feijóo because of the legacy he left in Galicia: "The PP is a guarantee of anti-Galician policies"

The BNG deputy in Congress, Néstor Rego, has once again announced his negative vote for the investiture of the candidate for the Presidency of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, appealing to the legacy that he left during his period as president of the Xunta de Galicia. In his opinion, having a president of the Galician Government is not a "guarantee" of investments for Galicia but of "anti-Galician policies." "The PP of Galicia appealed to us to vote favorably, alleging how positive it would be for our country to have a president of the Galician Government. The problem is that we already have that experience," Rego stated during his speech, listing the decrease in investments, the increase in the deficit or the cuts carried out by the administration of former president Mariano Rajoy. Furthermore, according to the BNG deputy, the Xunta de Galicia led by Feijóo left the community in 2022 "worse than how it was found in 2009", leading to thousands of Galicians emigrating "due to lack of job opportunities" due to a "disastrous policy "of business closures or decreased investment that led to the loss of "more than 40,000 jobs." Thus, Rego has reproached Feijóo that he does not have "credibility" and that he trusts "more in facts than in promises" and that, even so, in his investiture speech he did not mention Galicia. "He is outrageous and shameful," he added, pointing out that if he did not support the region during his time as president of the Xunta, "he will not do so now" if he is sworn in as president of the Government.
