luxury fashion house Balenciaga caused a big scandal when disseminating his new advertising campaign in which he decided to show kids hugging teddy bears dressed in bondage clothing or sadomasochism.

The company’s campaign photos showed young children dressed in the Balenciaga Kids line and accompanied by stuffed dolls who were dressed in accessories and clothing associated with sadomasochism.

This new campaign photographed by Gabriele Galimberti, the images were part of a series of projects called ‘Toy Stories’, with which the brand intended to launch home accessories.

In its original press release, the company said the line featured “dozens of new products ranging from Home furniturepet clothing and fragrances, from everyday items to limited-edition collectibles and bespoke furniture.”

However, the presentation of the new series ‘Toy Stories’ was immediately marred on social networks by comments that they criticized the decision of putting child models holding stuffed animals that were dressed in accessories and clothing associated with sadomasochism.

Balenciaga stops and apologizes

After days of scandal and criticism, the company decided to withdraw the campaign advertising and apologize for the images that caused outrage and anger.

we apologize sincerely for any offense our Christmas campaign may have caused,” the statement read.

And informed that the campaign will be withdrawn. “Our stuffed bags should not have appeared with children in this campaign. We have immediately withdrawn the campaign from all platforms,” said the fashion firm.
