This Thursday a woman and two policemen were killed in a stabbing and shooting incident involving an individual in possession of a hunting rifle, who barricaded himself in a building belonging to Nagano prefecture, central Japan.

Police confirmed that another man was injured and identified the attacker as the eldest son of the head of the local Assembly, Masamichi Aoki, whom he declared is hiding in his father's house in Nagano.

Notified around 4:30 p.m. (local time) of the stabbing of a woman, the local authorities have not yet considered the incident over; For this reason, they have asked the population of the affected area not to leave their homes unless it is extremely necessary.

An eyewitness to the stabbing, and who called and directed police to the scene, described the suspect as a man dressed in camouflage, with a hat, sunglasses and a mask.

It is known that the attacker reappeared later, when a police car was parked in the area and immediately fired at the driver's side.

As a result, two police officers died and were identified as Yoshiki Tamai, a 46-year-old inspector, and Takuo Ikeuchi, a 61-year-old sergeant.
