El ataque indiscriminado con arma blanca y atropellamiento perpetrado este jueves en la ciudad de Seongnam, al sur de Seul, en Corea del Sur, dejó al menos 10 de personas heridas.

Las autoridades informaron que tres de ellas fueron trasladas a la sala de emergencias de un hospital, y por el momento se desconoce el alcance de las heridas de las otras víctimas.
Los hechos ocurrieron cerca de un centro comercial y junto a la estación de metro de Seohyeon poco antes de las 18H00 hora local.

Los servicios de emergencia recibieron una llamada alertando sobre un individuo que estaba atacando a las personas con un cuchillo. La policía logró arrestarlo cuando trataba de huir de la escena del crimen.
El autor de las agresiones previamente atropelló a los peatones con un vehículo, del que posteriormente descendió para comenzar a acuchillar a quienes se encontraban cerca.
Este constituye el segundo incidente de este tipo que se registra en Corea del Sur en solo 15 días. Un suceso similar tuvo lugar el pasado 21 de julio al sureste de la capital cuando un hombre comenzó a apuñalar a los peatones, dejando un muerto y tres heridos.
