A 19-year-old gunman is in custody after robbing one victim and stealing another's car. Just before midnight Monday, officers responded to the 3000 block of Furman Lane, in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, for a report of a burglary. The suspect, wearing a ski mask, approached the victim in the apartment's parking lot with a firearm and demanded her keys and wallet. He then drove away without taking the car. While the police were looking for him, the same man stole a 2001 BMW 330I in the same parking lot, after pointing a firearm at the driver and demanding the keys. The suspect forced the victim away from the area \ and then made her get out of the car. An officer saw the stolen BMW on Richmond Highway near Franklin Street. The suspect, later identified as Malik Kamara, ran out with his firearm in hand. The officers gave chase on foot, arresting him at a short distance. He recovered the firearm and the stolen property. Now Kamara is being held without bail.
