It is expected that after his arrival at AIFA, Antony Blinken will meet with Alicia Bárcena, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), with whom he will address the issue of migration; The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Álvaro Leyva, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Janaina Tewaney, will also participate in this meeting.
Late at night, around 8:00 p.m., both Antony Blinken and Alicia Bárcena are expected to meet again, but now at a work dinner.
In the High Level Meeting on Security, which will be held this Thursday at the National Palace and will be headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the US Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Secretary will also participate on behalf of the US delegation. of Internal Security, Alejandro Mayorkas; as well as Undersecretaries Todd Robinson for International Narcotics Affairs, Brian A. Nichols for Western Hemisphere Affairs and White House Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall, as well as Ambassador Ken Salazar.
The Mexican delegation will be made up of Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena, the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz; as well as the secretaries of National Defense, Luis Crescencio Sandoval; of the Navy, Admiral Rafael Ojeda; of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez; of the National Intelligence Center, General Audomaro Martínez and the Commissioner of Immigration, Francisco Garduño.
The topics that will be addressed in the meeting between both security cabinets, according to what President López Obrador himself announced in his morning conference, will be migration, security and drug trafficking.
