According to the entity, the second dose will be applied three weeks after the first, while the third will take place eight weeks after the second pharmacological compound has been inoculated.

Regarding the organizational process of this vaccination campaign, the executive president of the CCSS, Marta Esquivel, assured that the supplies are available to begin the immunization process for the child population included in this age range.

"Our greatest interest is that we are all protected. Starting today (Monday) at noon, the vaccine is available in the health areas with the highest concentration of people throughout the country; this Tuesday, October 4, it will be available in the most remote areas. ", specified the representative of the CCSS.

For her part, the Minister of Health of Costa Rica, Joselyn Chacón, addressed the importance of vaccinating minors in order to prevent serious forms of Covid-19 in children.

“Boys and girls are also likely to become seriously ill and suffer short- and long-term consequences from Covid-19. This vaccine allows them to be protected and prevents them from being hospitalized and even dying”, indicated the holder of the portfolio.

Likewise, he highlighted the role of the Costa Rican Government in guaranteeing access to the vaccine in children under five years of age and invited the citizens of the country to be proud of this fact.
