Another peace signer shot dead in Putumayo, Colombia | News
The Partido Comunes denounced on Monday the shooting murder of the signer of the peace agreement Juan José Chilito Martínez, in the town of Puerto Guzmán, Colombian department of Putumayo.

The 55-year-old Colombian ex-combatant was currently in the reincorporation process assigned to the department of Caquetá, after having requested a transfer from Putumayo.
According to the Institute of Studies for Development and Peace, Chilito Martínez was assassinated on Monday in the José María village of the Puerto Guzmán municipality.
With the murder of Juan José Chilito Martínez, Colombia adds 18 signatories of the peace agreement killed this year and 317 since the signing of the pact in 2016, according to data from Indepaz.

For the Partido Comunes, the crime of Chilito Martínez is evidence of the need for the comprehensive implementation of the Peace Agreement in the South American country.
Colombia is experiencing an upsurge in violence in recent months, with massacres, assassinations of social leaders and clashes between irregular armed groups on the verge of presidential elections, the first round of which is scheduled for May 29.
