Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirms that he tested positive for COVID-19; for the second time

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed that he is infected with COVID-19, after presenting symptoms in the morning and after applying the corresponding test.

Via twitter, the president announced that It will continue with its activities remotely, so its Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, will be the one who will resume his face-to-face agenda in the coming days.

“I inform you that I am infected with # COVID19 and although the symptoms are mild, I will remain in isolation and will only do office work and I will communicate virtually until I get ahead, “wrote the president on social networks.

Prior to this confirmation, Different voices of politics in Mexico described the president as “irresponsible” for appearing at the morning conference this Monday with symptoms, back then, of possible COVID-19.

Even this Monday morning, AMLO acknowledged that he woke up hoarse and that, for this reason, he would undergo a COVID test in the afternoon, to rule out that he had contracted the virus again, as it finally turned out.

It should be remembered that the week before, The president was in contact with the Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, who on January 7 announced that it had been positive to COVID-19.

In addition, in the morning, María Luisa Albores González, head of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), also reported that she tested positive for COVID-19.

López Obrador counts three doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, the last application being on December 7 of last year, at the beginning of the reinforcement campaign to protect the elderly against the winter season.
