Andrea González es la nueva candidata presidencial para Ecuador; sustituye a Fernando Villavicencio

El movimiento político Construye, de Ecuador, anunció este sábado que Andrea González Nader será su nueva candidata presidencial, en sustitución de Fernando Villavicencio, quien el pasado miércoles fue asesinado a balazos justo cuando salía de un mitin electoral.

Andrea González Náder ocupaba hasta ahora la candidatura a vicepresidenta en el binomio que encabezaba Villavicencio, por lo que Construye indicó en un comunicado que en las próximas horas anunciará a la persona que reemplazará a la activista e ingeniera ambiental como su acompañante en esta fórmula.

Si el Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) acepta este cambio, González Náder participaría este domingo dentro del debate que sostendrán los candidatos presidenciales a una semana de la votación de estas elecciones generales extraordinarias, convocadas para el próximo 20 de agosto.

Para realizar este cambio en el binomio de candidato a la Presidencia y Vicepresidencia, Construye citó el artículo 99 del Código de la Democracia de Ecuador, que “señala que el binomio presidencial es una candidatura unipersonal”.

“Andrea González Náder fue la persona elegida por Fernando Villavicencio y por el Movimiento Construye para reemplazar al presidente en caso de ausencia”, recordó la formación política.

“Consecuentes con aquello, los órganos directivos del movimiento se han ratificado en esta decisión y Andrea González será inscrita como candidata a la Presidencia de la República del Ecuador“, agregó.

En el comunicado, firmado por el secretario nacional de Construye, Raúl González, se detalló que en la reunión de los órganos directivos del movimiento “se analizaron también los nombres e otros ciudadanos, pero de manera unánime se rechazaron”.

“Exhortamos a los colectivos aliados y amigos que, en función del legado de Fernando, cualquier diferencia se trate de manera respetuosa”, concluyó.
