An environmental activist disrupts the Laver Cup and sets himself on fire in protest | Video
A climate change activist interrupted the Laver Cup 2022, burning his arm sitting on the track of the O2 Arena in London during the match between the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and the Argentine Diego Schwartzmann.
The young man entered the track during a break and protested against the private plane travel what is done in the United Kingdom. He was wearing a T-shirt that read ‘End UK private jets’.
Subsequently, set fire with some type of fuel, the flames spread over a small part of the court, leaving a mark, and through his right arm, the young man was heard screaming from the pain of the burns.
Moments later, the security team put out the fire on the tarmac and removed the man from the O2 Arena in London.
The incident happened hours before the dismissal of professional tennis of ‘His Majesty’ Roger Federer, 20 times winner of Grand Slam tournaments.
