Grupo México wants a dialogue table with the federal government over contamination in the Sonora River
Grupo México seeks a dialogue table with the federal government to analyze the studies carried out by the Ministry of the Environment on the pollution of the Sonora River and compensate for the damages, reported President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who welcomed the position of the mining company and assured that it is progress.
“The day before, a letter was sent to the Ministry of the Interior from Grupo México with the intention of establishing a dialogue to address several issues and one of them is to seek a solution to the problem of contamination of the Sonora River. They are asking for the installation of a table to establish a dialogue (…), fortunately on Monday they already sought an approach to see this in depth with the Ministry of the Environment,” he said.
