AMLO calls to choose candidates well for the 2024 elections
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador He stated that parties must appropriately choose their candidates and involve their membership and the population in general in that process.
From Tijuana, and questioned about the selection of candidates in the Morena party, he said that the main aspect that must be considered is the party program and the proposals of the candidate candidates.

"First, it is the program, I think that is very important, because if the program does not contemplate benefiting the people, the program that a candidate is postulating or the party that is nominating him," said the head of the Executive.
Furthermore, the use of the public budget to support any party or candidate should be avoided and that the candidates and officials by popular election should be decided by the population, which, he insisted, is already politicized.
Finally, López Obrador said that the selection process must be transparent and it should be the population that decides and not the party leaders.
"It's the season for aspiring candidates, then pre-candidates, candidates, campaigns (...) "What you have to think about is that people, more so now that there is more awareness, more politicization.
"I believe that everything is going to turn out very well in all the parties and we must have confidence in the people" (...) "In the case of some parties, surveys are done to see who is better and it is the people who decide and whoever is dissatisfied has the right to protest," he pointed out.
The president is on a tour of Baja California and this Sunday he will be present at the report of Governor Marina del Pilar about whom he said "she is not alone."
