Al menos 30 muertos en un aparatoso incendio de una gasolinera en Daguestán
Al menos 30 personas murieron, entre ellas tres niños, y otras 75 resultaron heridas en la explosión que se produjo anoche en una gasolinera en las afueras de Majachkalá, la capital de la república rusa de Daguestán, una república rusa del Cáucaso vecina de Chechenia, según los últimos datos proporcionados este martes por las autoridades locales.
El jefe de Daguestán, Serguéi Mélnikov, decretó hoy día de duelo en toda la república norcaucasiana. Y el Gobierno daguestaní anunció que asistirá materialmente a los familiares de los fallecidos con ayudas de un millón de rublos, unos 9.600 euros, mientras que los heridos recibirán 400.000 rublos, unos 3.800 euros.

Según el Comité de Instrucción, el incendio que provocó la explosión de la gasolinera se originó en un taller de reparación de automóviles colindante con ella. De acuerdo con el Ministerio Interior de Daguestán, estallaron dos de los ocho depósitos de combustible de la gasolinera que dejó un enorme cráter en el suelo.
"Todo a nuestro alrededor estaba en llamas (...), no podíamos ver nada", dijo uno de los heridos al canal de televisión ruso Ren-TV, mientras los médicos atendían su herida en la cabeza.
Las autoridades incoaron un proceso penal por prestación de servicios sin respetar las medidas de seguridad. "Se están aclarando las causas de la tragedia", señaló el líder de Daguestán, Sergei Melikov, en Telegram, expresando su "profundo pésame" a las familias de las víctimas y elogiando las "actos heroicos" de los rescatistas que, según él, ayudaron a evitar un mayor número de muertos.
Según Melikov, la explosión ocurrió poco antes de las 22 horas en una gasolinera cerca del pueblo de Novokouli, en el suburbio de Majachkalá, en el Mar Caspio. Según los investigadores, se produjo un incendio durante los trabajos de mantenimiento del automóvil, seguido de una detonación que provocó un incendio mucho mayor, que dañó los edificios y vehículos circundantes.
Pocas horas después, el fuego, que se extendía por aproximadamente 600 m2 y movilizó a 260 bomberos, fue extinguido, según informó el Ministerio de Situaciones de Emergencia de Rusia.
