A poem crossed by dance

This is what is evoked by the poem that the choreographer and dancer Ricardo Rubio wrote a long time ago and now inspires the “eclectic piece.” MY TEMPLE (O)which will premiere on November 16 at the Guillermina Bravo Dance Theater of the Centro Cultural del Bosque.

It combines many of the knowledge that I have worked on in different works and now I try to connect them with the knowledge of my body,” explains Rubio in an interview about the piece.
It is a commitment to hybridity, to the work of a personal author. Each artist, throughout his life, accumulates his intelligence, his knowledge, which is unique; and, when he embraces them, his work becomes very personal.”
Rubio says that the choreography, which will be performed by the Mexican company Interflamenca, has many readings. “It can be seen as a
sound installation intervened by the body of a dancer, like a poem crossed by dance or like a stage ritual.”
Through the language of flamenco, “which works with emotional impulses and passion,” Rubio gives life to a dance solo accompanied by an electronic musician, brass
and branches.
