A finales de 2023 se negociará adhesión de Ucrania a Unión Europea: Zelenski

El presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski, afirmó este miércoles que la Unión Europea (UE) debe dar luz verde a las negociaciones para la adhesión de Ucrania antes de final de año, sin que exista “alternativa”, según dijo en un encuentro en Kiev con representantes diplomáticos.

“A finales de año, la decisión para comenzar las negociaciones para la adhesión de nuestro Estado debe estar aprobada por el Consejo Europeo. No hay una alternativa a esto“, aseveró, de acuerdo con la agencia de noticias Ukrinform.

Zelenski subrayó que la Rada Suprema, el parlamento ucraniano, debe aprobar todos los proyectos de ley relacionados con el paquete necesario para el inicio de las negociaciones y que su elaboración constituye un asunto de “seguridad nacional”.

También para la UE la adhesión de Ucrania es una cuestión de seguridad, indicó, ya que cualquier incertidumbre al respecto constituye una debilidad que “tienta” a Rusia a actuar de forma agresiva y a aprovecharse del vacío allí donde falta cooperación entre las instituciones europeas.

Ucrania recibió el estatus de país candidato a la adhesión en junio de 2022 y está previsto que el próximo otoño la Comisión Europea (CE) publique un informe sobre los progresos de Kiev en la implementación de los requisitos para la apertura de negociaciones.

Por otro lado, Zelenski transmitió a los embajadores ucranianos que el Gobierno está “esforzándose” para que la cumbre global que está previsto que albergue Kiev para impulsar la “Fórmula de Paz” pueda celebrarse en otoño.

Es necesario que acudan a ella “representantes del norte y del sur, del este y del oeste”, según remarcó. “El otoño está muy, muy cerca, pero todavía hay tiempo para preparar la cumbre e implicar a la mayoría de países del mundo“, afirmó. (EFE)
