6.3 magnitude earthquake shakes a region of western Japan | News
An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 shook the Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa, in the west of the island country, on Friday, without the authorities issuing a tsunami warning due to the tremor.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake occurred at 2:42 p.m. (local time) at a depth of 10 kilometers and with an epicenter in the Noto area in northern Ishikawa.
The tremor led to the suspension of train service in that area of Japan, including the Hokuriku shinkansen (bullet train), which crosses the country and connects with the capital Tokyo.

After the telluric movement in the Ishikawa area, other earthquakes of magnitude 4 were reported in the city of Nagaoka, in the Niigata prefecture (west coast), and magnitude 3 in Tohoku (north).
Japan is located on the so-called Ring of Fire, one of the most active seismic zones in the world, so its infrastructures are designed to withstand tremors.
